This has been in the works for a long time. I have been bugging my wife for over a year to let me get a dog, and she has finally conceded. You see when I was growing up we always had Golden Labs, and I really miss having dogs around. Now that we have settled into a house and are no longer renting an apartment, the time is just right.

So the next task at hand is to get ready for this new addition to our household by taking care of a few essentials. For example, I am going to have to install one of those patio pet doors. And I’m going to have to find a place to buy discount pet supplies like that Advantage flea stuff.

Of course the part that my wife has not caught on to yet is that you can’t just have one Golden Lab. These are the kind of dogs that you have to have in pairs. I thought about asking her what she thought about getting two of them, but instead I’m just going to take the initiative and do it. After all, they say it is easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission!
