Being Remembered

They used to ask me why I decided to spend my tax rebate check on some cement floor grinders and concrete mixers. They used to laugh, since I didn’t work with either concrete or architecture. In fact, I was an online marketer that barely ever left the house.
But what they didn’t know was that I had a master plan. I was going to take those concrete tools and do something I’d always wanted to do: Leave my handprints in the sidewalk.
Oh, it was going to be difficult all right. I needed some careful planning since, if I’m not mistaken, sidewalks are considered government property. But regardless, I have always wanted to be immortalized in some think solid concrete, and now I was about to be.
All I needed to do was to wait for darkness, sneak out with my tools and lay down a little bit of concrete. I’m going to press my hands in there and possibly add my initials if I’m feeling frisky, then place a few cones around the spot and wait for it to dry.
It’s going to happen. And when it does, I will be there, showing off my hand prints and getting the neighbors jealous.
