Starting Your Second Career
By UBG in Careers | 0 comments
There are many people who do a job for awhile and do it really well but then realize that they don’t want to work in that industry anymore. If you find yourself in this position, you may want to start thinking about launching a second career.
Here are some steps that you would take to start a second career:
- Ask yourself what you love to do. This will guide your career choices. For example, if you love to cook then you might want to look at getting more information about culinary arts programs in CA such as those offered at the Culinary Academy of California.
- Determine whether you are launching a part-time or full-time career. Some people leave their first jobs and start a second career full-on whereas others transition slowly. Either way can be right for you.
- Save up some money. No matter how you make this transition, you can’t get a new education or start a new business without some cash in the savings account.
- Take the leap. Ultimately you just have to engage in a bold act of faith and let that old job go if you want to move on into the new second career that the rest of your life might end up being about.
There are many small steps involved in moving from a first career to a second career but the basics involve figuring out what you want, planning for it to happen in a stable manner and then taking that leap!
